About us.
PsychVox is a media organization that helps mental health professionals stay current on important new research.
Working in mental health often means juggling multiple roles: treating clients, writing notes, and keeping up with research and training. But let's be honest—there’s rarely enough time to stay up-to-date on research.
Why is that? Well, perhaps the biggest reason is that there’s simply an overwhelming amount of new research that comes out. How much new research are we talking about? Let’s figure it out.
There are about 1,000 mental health journals that are relevant for mental health clinicians.
Each journal publishes an average of 16 articles per month.
Each article averages around 20 double spaced pages.
That means that to stay on top of research, therapists need to read 320,000 pages per year, or 878 pages per day. And that’s only the reading part. Clinicians must also access the articles, many of which are stuck behind paywalls, and then figure out how to apply the research.
Clearly, this is an impossible task.
That’s where we come in. Every day, we sift through dozens of journals to uncover the research that truly matters to practicing therapists like us—bringing essential insights straight to those who need them most. We then break it down into clear, digestible summaries—delivered through text, audio, and shareable resources.
